Open SwiftSplit and tap Link Your First Account. You'll be guided through Plaid's secure bank connection flow. Select your institution, enter your credentials directly in Plaid's interface (SwiftSplit never sees them), and authorize read-only access. The whole process takes about 60 seconds.

First make sure you are friends with everyone you want to invite to the group. Tap Groups → Friends and ask your friends to send you their friend code or share yours with them. The app uses friend codes since your PII data is encrypted and its difficult to search encypted data. Tap Groups → Create, give it a name (e.g., "Roommates" or "Beach Trip"), then invite through your friends list.

Go to Groups → [Group you want automatic expences assigned to] → Lightning Icon to the right of Expenses header → "+" button in top right. You can create rules based on specific merchant name (e.g., "Trader Joe's"), transaction category (e.g., all "Groceries"), individual linked accounts, and by a set time period. The split percentage is based on the group settings. SwiftSplit will apply the rule automatically from that point forward.

Yes. SwiftSplit uses Plaid, which is trusted by thousands of financial applications. Your bank username and password go directly to Plaid via an encrypted channel — we never receive or store your credentials. We receive only read-only transaction data with your explicit permission. You can revoke access at any time.

First, verify your credentials are correct by logging in to your bank's website directly. If they're correct, try disconnecting and reconnecting the account. Some banks require you to approve the Plaid connection from within your bank's mobile app or via SMS. If the problem persists, email us and we'll help troubleshoot.

Go to Settings → Linked Accounts, tap the account you want to remove, and select Disconnect. This immediately revokes our access to that account's data. Any previously synced transactions will remain in your history until you delete them manually.

SwiftSplit subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Play Store. To cancel: open the iOS Settings app → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → SwiftSplit → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, then revert to the Free plan.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. For refund requests, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have a billing issue specific to SwiftSplit, email us and we'll do our best to help.

Sign in to SwiftSplit with the same account you used to purchase, and your subscription will automatically restore. If it doesn't, go to Settings → Restore Purchases within the app.
